Halifax police have issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for a wanted man they say is “unlawfully at large.”
Tyrell Peter Dechamp, 26, didn’t return to his home in Halifax by his curfew of 11 p.m. on April 19, causing the police to consider him at large.
Dechamp, who has a history of violent offences, is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Police are asking for help locating Dechamp, who is described as a 5’9″ light-complexion black man with a stocky build. They say he is about 210 pounds with brown eyes and short black hair.
Halifax Regional Police spokesperson Const. Dianne Woodworth said they understand the timing of this warrant coincides with a rash of violence that’s plagued Halifax, but wouldn’t confirm that this warrant is related to ongoing homicide investigations.
Police advise members of the public not to approach Dechamp if they see him, but to call 911 instead.
