WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Goldeyes have boosted their bullpen by signing former first round MLB draft pick, Kyle Lotzkar.

The Canadian right-handed pitcher was selected 53rd overall by the Cincinnati Reds in 2007. He attended the team’s spring training camp in 2012 and 2013. Lotzkar has spent the last two seasons with the Double-A Texas League’s Frisco RoughRiders.

The 26-year-old has racked up a 20-23 record in 147 games in eight professional seasons. He also has two saves, a 4.70 ERA and has averaged 10.1 strikeouts per nine innings.
“We’re hoping his experience will help add quality depth to the pitching staff,” said Goldeyes’ manager, Rick Forney in a statement.
Lotzkar played for the Canadian Junior National Team in 2007 and was named to the world roster for the 2012 All-Star Futures Game.
The Goldeyes have also claimed left-handed pitchers, Ethan Carnes and Bennett Parry off waivers.
Carnes was 2-0 with a 3.45 ERA in five starts the Texas AirHogs this season. Parry comes from the Lincoln Saltdogs where he was 1-0 with a 3.24 ERA in four starts.
Goldeyes left-handed pitcher, Trevor Lubking has been transferred to the inactive list from the disabled list.
