Jason Scott / Global News

A 21-year-old woman has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was found laying in the road in a possible hit-and-run in Scarborough.

Police say the woman was struck around 3 a.m. Friday near St Clair Avenue East and Kennedy Road.

Photos from the area show a grisly scene, with a bloody article of clothing on the roadway.

Const. Clint Stibbe told Global News it was not clear whether she was hit by car or if she was already in the road and was run over. He said the woman lives in the area.
