Toronto Star columnist Rosie DiManno’s court date delayed to late August

Toronto Star columnist Rosie DiManno has had her court date on an assault charge put off until late August.

It was announced in a Bancroft, Ont., court Tuesday that the case has been delayed until Aug. 23. DiManno wasn’t in court but a lawyer appeared on her behalf.

DiManno was charged with assault two weeks ago after an incident in Wollaston Township, Ont., about 230 kilometres east of Toronto.

Provincial police said DiManno, 60, and the alleged victim were visiting Wollaston when an assault occurred. They have released no details about the alleged victim.
