When Montreal police officer Martin Messier stopped to play a tune on a public piano in Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie, he didn’t look around to see if anyone was filming.
The officer played an acoustic version of Guns N’ Roses’ hit song November Rain while on foot patrol at the Promenade Masson.
Instagram user alexiavlnz posted the video on her account on Monday.
“I found that he played very well and I was touched by his melody,” she told Global News.

“I’m French from Nice and I needed hope in humanity. The reason is simple.”
Montreal police officials said they had heard of Messier’s solo performance on the streets.
“It shows the human side of police,” said Darren McMahon-Payette, spokesperson with Montreal police.
“That’s a positive thing.”
