Rio 2016: What’s on tap for Team Canada on Day 5 of the Rio Games

After picking up another medal on Day 4 of the Rio Olympics, Team Canada sets its sights on the fifth full day of competition on Wednesday.

Here are some events to watch on Day 5 of Rio 2016.

BASKETBALL: Canada takes on Senegal in women’s preliminary Group B action at 4:45 p.m. ET.

JUDO: Kelita Zupancic takes on an opponent yet to be determined in the judo 70kg elimination round of 16. Events begin at 10 a.m. ET.

ROWING: It was supposed to be a busy day in the water for Team Canada as multiple rowing events were scheduled to take place including men’s coxless four, women’s coxed eight, men’s quadruple sculls, women’s coxless pair, but events were cancelled early Wednesday morning due to weather. A new schedule will be posted soon, according to a tweet from World Rowing, the global governing body of the sport.

TENNIS: Canada’s Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil are in the men’s doubles semifinal round Wednesday morning.

SWIMMING: A slew of pool events are set for Wednesday including men’s 200m breaststroke final, women’s 200m butterfly final and the men’s 100m freestyle final. Final events begin around 9 p.m. ET.
