There was a heavy police presence in one north-end Dartmouth neighbourhood for much of the day Saturday.
Police arrived on Pinecrest Drive at around noon and quickly blocked off the area to both pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Heavily armed officers were visible throughout the community and at around 4 p.m., members of the RCMP swat team arrived and entered 126 Pinecrest Drive, a multi-unit apartment building.

Police stayed tight lipped all day about why they were interested in the apartment building. But around 8 p.m., Sgt. Charles Naugle confirmed that officers were attempting to arrest a person on an outstanding warrant.

After a search of the units inside the apartment building, police confirmed their suspect was not inside.
Pinecrest Drive has now reopened to traffic and residents are once again allowed to enter their homes.
