Prince Albert, Sask., police say a Taser was used to subdue a 16-year-old boy on Wednesday who was aggressively attempting to resist arrest.
The incident began with a vehicle pursuit in the city. Police said the young offender used excessive speeds and had a disregard for traffic laws.

Shortly after, the teenager fled the vehicle and was pursued on foot by officers. The chase ended at a high fence where he “faced officers combatively with the intent to fight.”
The Conducted Energy Device (CED) was utilized at around 4:30 a.m. CT and “immediately stopped the threat posed to officers.”
The teen was arrested without further incident and taken to hospital for precautionary reasons. He was treated and released back into police custody.
The accused is scheduled to make his first provincial court appearance on Thursday to answer to numerous criminal charges.
