Former Quebec education minister Pierre Moreau is expected back at work after suffering from a severe illness.

The MNA’s health has improved considerably following treatment during the last few months, according to a press release.

“The symptoms, clinical signs and medical imaging tests suggested that he was suffering from a cancerous neoplasia last February,” explained Dr. Maryse Turcotte with CHU de Québec-Université Laval.

“Further investigation confirmed he did not have cancer, but a very severe atypical multi-systemic infection.”

He is expected back at work within the next few weeks.
