A threat directed to a Lloydminster high school forced the closure of two schools on Friday.
Lloydminster Catholic School Division (LCSD) closed Holy Rosary High School and the adjacent Ecole St Thomas after a threat was made towards Holy Rosary.

“The safety of our school division community is our first priority,” read the post on Holy Rosary’s Facebook page.
“We are requesting that Holy Rosary High School and Ecole St. Thomas parents keep their children at home.”
City officials said that although RCMP continue to investigate, they believe there is no risk to the public.

They also said they have offered the support of its emergency management and communications resources.
“We commend the Lloydminster Catholic School Division and the Lloydminster RCMP for their prompt and decisive actions in ensuring the safety of students and staff,” Lloydminster Mayor Gerald Aalbers said in a statement.
