A Liberal government appointee who was brought on to pump the province’s LNG projects, has lost his title after the New Democrats cancelled his contract Tuesday morning.
The Christy Clark government brought Gordon Wilson on in October 2013 as LNG – Buy BC Advocate. The premier’s office says Wilson has been paid $550,000 since then.
During those three and a half years, Wilson apparently gave only oral reports, so the NDP say there’s virtually no written reports or documentation of the work he did.
The premier’s office said his calendar was full of cancelled meetings.

According to them, Wilson will not receive severance as stipulated in his contract.

But Wilson replied by saying work was done, even if there are no reports to show it.
“I certainly wasn’t hired to write reports. My job, actually came out of premier Christy Clark’s commitment to making sure that this industry evolved in British Columbia.”
He said he also has briefing notes.
