Two people from Hammonds Plains, N.S. have been charged following the seizure of a significant amount of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and cash during a targeted traffic stop on Wednesday.

Police say at about 5:15 p.m. the South Shore Integrated Crime Unit, with help from RCMP, stopped a vehicle in a business parking lot located off Highway 10 in Cookville, N.S.
A quantity of crack cocaine was seized, along with drug paraphernalia and cash.
Timothy Charles MacKenzie, 28, and Alisha Dawn Hynick, 25, each face a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
MacKenzie was remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court Aug. 17 for a bail hearing. Hynick was released with conditions and will appear in the same provincial court on Oct. 11 to face her charge.
