Cape Breton police are investigating what they say is believed to be a homicide in Sydney, N.S.

Police say they responded to a Prince Street address at approximately 11 a.m. to a report of a deceased person. On arriving, they found the body of a man in his 50s in his apartment.

According to a news release, police say the death is suspicious in nature and being considered a homicide.

The Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit are continuing their investigation.
