TORONTO – Canadians from coast to coast took to social media to express their sadness over the loss of Stompin’ Tom Connors who passed away at the age of 77.

Born Thomas Charles Connors in Saint John, New Brunswick on February 9th 1936, the musical icon’s career crossed generations and will forever be remembered for “The Hockey Song.”
He died of natural causes in his Peterborough, Ontario home on March 6, 2013.
