TORONTO – Which movie about terrorists taking over the White House will fare best at the box office: Olympus Has Fallen, now in cinemas, or White House Down, which opens June 28?

Olympus Has Fallen, starring Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman, opened last weekend in the No. 2 spot at the box office with a gross of $30.4 million.

White House Down, which was filmed in Montreal, stars Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

The two action flicks have similar plots about outside forces taking control of the president’s home.

Last year, Snow White and the Huntsman raked in nearly $400 million even though it followed another Snow White movie, the Montreal-shot Mirror Mirror, which made $166 million.
