The two Kamloops ridings are historically considered bellwether ridings: their MLAs form governments. With Liberal members in both ridings, and a Liberal government yet again, this seems to have held true.
Lake was first elected to provincial politics in 2009, but had previously served as Mayor of Kamloops from 2005-2008, and was a councillor before that. Lake is a veterinarian by trade and led the Sled Dog Task Force before being named to cabinet.
