TORONTO – Just before 4 p.m. ET on Monday afternoon Gawker Media reached their fundraising goal to raise $200,000 to purchase a video showing what could be Toronto Mayor Rob Ford smoking what might be crack cocaine.
Earlier in the day Gawker updated the campaign page noting that they have had no further contact with the people who have the video. If the sale of the video falls through the entire $200,000 will be donated to a Canadian non-profit organization that addresses substance abuse issues.
