CALGARY – A new trial has been ordered for two men convicted in a gang-land style shooting at a southeast restaurant.
Nathan Zuccherato and Michael Roberto were convicted of three counts each of first-degree murder after masked gunmen opened fire at Bolsa Restaurant on New Years Day in 2009.

The shooting killed three people including 21-year-old Aaron Bendle, 23-year-old Sanjeev Mann, and innocent bystander 43-year-old Keni S’ua.
On Wednesday, The Alberta Court of Appeal ordered a new trial for Zuccherato and Roberto, citing new evidence in the case which surfaced after their conviction.

The move comes after the Crown’s star witness, who can only be referred to as ‘MM,’ confessed to the murders to an RCMP officer in Saskatchewan
The pair remain in custody until their new trial, which is expected sometime in 2014.
