CALGARY – Police have confirmed the body of a woman has been found in an apartment in Mission.
Police said the 83-year-old woman did not evacuate her apartment, near 25th Avenue and the Elbow River.

The cause of death is not known, but much of that area was under water.
So far, there have been three deaths attributed to the floods that have swept over communities in southern Alberta.

Floodwaters in Calgary have receded and Mayor Naheed Nenshi said Sunday as many as 65,000 people will be allowed to return home.
But, many areas of the city remain off-limits — including parts of the downtown core.
