Two dead after crash near Crooked River, Sask.

CROOKED RIVER, Sask. – A single vehicle crash on Sunday near Crooked River, Sask. has claimed the lives of two men.

RCMP say the crash happened at the intersection of Highways 3 and 23 north of the community.

A northbound vehicle went through the intersection, left the road and collided with several trees before coming to a rest off the road and out of sight of passing traffic.

Two men were found dead in the vehicle.

Their names have not been released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Crooked River is approximately 200 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.

The deaths are the fourth and fifth on Saskatchewan roads this long weekend.

On Saturday morning, a 24-year-old man was killed after a hit and run on the Poundmaker First Nation.

A rollover early Sunday in Swift Current claimed the life of a semi driver.

In Regina, a 20-year-old woman was killed Sunday morning after the vehicle she was driving was t-boned by an alleged drunk driver.
