TORONTO – The story of an Edmonton man picking up the tab for 500 cups of coffee has gone viral.

Staff at a downtown Edmonton Tim Hortons said a young man in his mid-to-late 20s walked in on Monday, ordered a large double-double and a doughnut, and then asked to pay for 500 large coffees.

The anonymous man gave no explanation for his random act of kindness and paid the $859 bill with his debit card.
