TORONTO – A U.S. based DNA sampling service aims to catch irresponsible dog owners who don’t pick up their pets’ poo.
The Knoxville, Tennesee company, BioPet Vet Lab, has created what it calls a PooPrints DNA Pet Waste Managment service that allows property owners to track down pet owners for not picking up after their pets.

A sampling kit is used to swab a dog’s saliva which is then placed in a database.
If feces is found on the grounds, property managers can send the sample to a lab and learn the dog’s identity.
A fine can then be given to the resident.
