‘Fifty Shades’ movie to be shot in Vancouver

TORONTO – There’s going to be some S&M in B.C. this fall.

Producers have confirmed that the big screen adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey will take place in Vancouver beginning Nov. 5.

The movie, based on the bestselling erotic novels by E.L. James, stars Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) as billionaire Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson (21 Jump Street) as college student Anastasia Steele.

Fifty Shades is being directed by London-born Sam Taylor-Johnson. The 46-year-old is married to 23-year-old actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass 2), with whom she has two children.

Cameras are scheduled to roll until the end of January.

Hunnam, 33, is also shooting the thriller Crimson Peak in Toronto opposite Jessica Chastain.

Johnson, 23, is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith.
