Courtenay woman seriously injured in hit-and-run

A Courtenay woman is in hospital with serious injuries after she was struck in an apparent hit-and-run.

The 25-year-old woman was hit shortly before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night on Comox Road also known as Dyke Road.

The woman’s injuries are “extensive,” according to RCMP. She has been airlifted from St. Joseph’s Hospital to an undisclosed hospital in Victoria.

RCMP say they have “all available resources” on the case.
