“They haven’t asked, though.”
Russia’s strict anti-gay laws have caused outrage around the world and sparked calls for boycotts of the Winter Olympics and its sponsors.
Foster composed the themes for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
The Grammy-winning Victoria native also co-wrote the theme song for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
Foster was in Toronto to be a presenter at the Canada’s Walk of Fame induction ceremony at the Elgin Theatre, which will be broadcast in October.
