Police hunting for high-risk sex offender who removed monitoring device

LLOYDMINSTER, Sask. – RCMP are asking the public to be on the lookout for 48-year-old Michael Sean Stanley who is a high-risk sex offender.

RCMP say Stanley left Edmonton on Tuesday morning, went to Lloydminster and cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet.

The bracelet was found on a business’s roof in the 4300-block of 54 Avenue.

Mounties say Stanley has a long history of sexual offences and has taken kids from playgrounds in the past.

He is wanted for breach of his court release conditions.

Stanley is described as Métis, 5’9″, 190 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.

He may be driving a purple 1996 Chevrolet Trail Blazer with Alberta licence plate BHD1954.

Police are advising the public not to approach Stanley, as he has a violent disposition.
