Hundreds plan to gather in Surrey Sunday night to remember a Vancouver Island traffic flagger who was killed on the job last week.
Maggie Feeley, 29, was struck by a dump truck as it was reversing. The mother of three was taken to hospital, but died of her injuries Wednesday.
The circumstances of the tragic accident are hitting close to home for another flagger who managed to survive a similar crash on the North Shore last year.

It’s been more than a year since Shannon Chin was pinned under the wheel of a dump truck and dragged nearly ten metres while she was working as a flagger.
After more than seven weeks in hospital and 10 surgeries, the incident has left her with life-altering injuries.
Since hearing about Feeley’s death, Chin is speaking out for the first time about her ordeal hoping to inspire changes that will make flagging safer.
According to WorkSafeBC, three flaggers have been killed while on the job in the province in the past five years.
The investigation into Feeley’s death is ongoing.
The vigil and bottle drive starts at 6:30 p.m. at Holland Park.
