COLUMBUS, Ohio – A child killer set to be executed with a drug combination untried in the U.S. has arrived at the death house.
State officials say 40-year-old Ronald Phillips arrived at the prison just before 10 a.m. local time Wednesday, a day ahead of his scheduled execution.

Phillips was denied a last-minute request to donate his organs to his ailing mother and sisters.
Phillips said through his attorneys that the request was not a delay tactic, rather an attempt to make a final gesture for good.
State officials said logistics and security made donation of Phillips’ kidney and heart unworkable. They’ve left to his family whether the organs are harvested after his death.
His mother is diabetic and his sister has a heart condition. Ronald Phillips
