CALGARY- A major effort is underway to make sure young flood victims have a big smile on their face come Christmas morning.
A group of volunteers has started a Toy Mountain in High River, and are accepting gift donations for children and teenagers. They’re also planning a winter wonderland, to take place downtown on one of the weekend’s before Christmas.

“The kids are going through so much not having homes, not having their items they’ve collected, not having schooling. Their whole world has turned upside down,” says organizer April Lonsberry. “To have them forget about the hectic-ness and let it all go like kids, would be amazing to see.”
Donations can be dropped off at Truck Effects, located in the temporary business park in High River. The Salvation Army will then distribute the gifts.
