A southern Alberta woman has been granted day parole after being sentenced for killing her mother in their Lethbridge home nearly two years ago.

A guilty plea was made in a Lethbridge courtroom Friday: a 28-year-old woman admitted to killing her mother. Jessica Lee Ann Praill was charged with second-degree murder last April, but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

Jennifer Praill was served with an eviction notice just days after her mother 54-year-old Shelley Kristine Praill was murdered.
