It's a contemporary art festival that was first celebrated in Paris in 2002 and on Saturday night it took over Edmonton for the first time.

People in downtown Edmonton Sunday afternoon got a sneak peek of "Dance of the Cranes presented by Ice District," one of the dozens of art installations that will transform the downtown core next weekend for Nuit Blanche.

It's a one-night contemporary art event presented in several major cities throughout Canada and the world, and now, Edmonton is one step closer to having its own Nuit Blanche festival.
