Saskatchewan’s Serious Incident Response Team was deployed to an officer-involved shooting in Estevan Wednesday morning.
A news release from Estevan police said officers were on the scene of a serious incident in the 1200 block of 6th Street just before 7 a.m.
They said one person is in custody and there is no risk to the public.
Weyburn Police Association said the officer was seriously injured and that they will not be releasing any information on the matter.

“As this is an active investigation and out of respect of the officer, their family, the Estevan Police Service, and the integrity of the investigation, no further information will be provided by the WPA,” read a Facebook post from the association.
Premier Scott Moe said that this is a reminder of the risk protective services officers face daily.
