A 17-year-old youth is in critical condition after a near-drowning on Vancouver Island.
West Shore RCMP said in a social media post, that the youth was retrieved from Langford Lake by several bystanders.
Langford Fire Rescue said firefighters responded to a call for help around 2 p.m. on Saturday at Langford Lake.
Police said the bystanders performed CPR on the youth until emergency crews arrived.
A fire boat was used by Langford Fire Rescue firefighters to access the youth.

The youth was then transported on the fire boat to be handed off to B.C. Emergency Health Services, who had ambulances waiting nearby.
