Beaconsfield Arena should be packed this Friday night when Lakeshore Hockey holds An Evening of Hockey with the Greats, highlighted by a benefit hockey game involving the Montreal Canadiens Alumni.
Former Habs expected to suit up include Kirkland’s own Sergio Momesso, Guy Carbonneau and Patrice Brisebois.
Net proceeds from the event will go to local charities, the Habs Alumni, as well assist in developing a coaches’ resource and training facility for Lakeshore Hockey.
There are two spots on the Habs alumni team, for $1,500 apiece, available to amateurs 18 years and older wishing to skate alongside the blue, blanc et rouge.
The ex-Habs will faceoff against a team of 17 players who have paid ($750) for the honour of participating in the match.
Even six spots for game officials can be had if the price ($500) is right.
Participants will be invited to a "meet and greet" with Habs alumni before and after the game. The event begins at 5 p.m. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
General admission tickets cost $10 each, while 50 VIP tickets that come with access to the "meet and greet" are going for $50 apiece.
There will also be a silent auction and fans can try to stump hockey trivia whiz Liam Maguire.
