Helicopter crash near Pitt Lake leaves 2 men with only minor injuries

A helicopter crash at the north end of Pitt Lake Monday afternoon left two men with only minor injuries.

Search and Rescue officials responded to the call in Pitt Meadows at 4:15 p.m. The 442nd Squadron was training at the north end of Texada Island and was on scene within half an hour.

When the crew arrived the men had gotten themselves out of the helicopter and were both walking around.

They were transported by air to the Abbotsford Airport and were then taken to hospital by ambulance.

The Transportation Safety Board will be investigating.

There is no word yet on the cause of the accident.
