CALGARY- The sharp nose of a drug-sniffing dog helped RCMP make a sizeable drug seizure in Banff National Park.
Around noon on Wednesday, the officers were driving on Highway 1 near Lake Louise, when they pulled over a vehicle for an equipment violation.

The two people inside were pulled aside, and a police service dog named Maggie was brought in. After sniffing around, she alerted them to the presence of drugs in the vehicle, and a further search uncovered 10 pounds of marijuana hidden inside.
The value of the drugs was estimated at $68,000. Two 19-year-old men from Vernon, B.C. have since been charged, and are scheduled to appear in court in April.
