Calgary police said one person is dead and another was sent to hospital in non-life-threatening condition following a shooting at a residence in the southwest community of Patterson Heights on Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the home on Patterson Close around 8:40 a.m. and the CPS homicide unit was later called in to help investigate.
Investigators determined a woman who was the victim of an assault was sent to hospital with minor injuries while a man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
