Eighty countries around the world currently consider homosexuality illegal, and five of them – Mauritania, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Iran – punish homosexual acts with death. Only six countries afford gay couples marriage with full legal rights: South Africa, Spain, Belgium, Norway, Sweden and Canada.
