MONTREAL – Eve Cooper, owner of Delilah sur le Parc in Chelsea, is no longer facing a hefty fine for posting English on her Facebook page.
The business owner was targeted by L’Office de la langue Francaise last month when she received a letter urging her to post in French or pay up.

The language police accused her of violating Article 52 of Quebec’s Charter of the French language, which states that catalogues, brochures, folders, commercial directories and any similar publications” must be written in French.

On Sunday, Cooper received a call from an agent who admitted the law is not clear on social media sites and she is no longer being forced to translate her page.
