WINNIPEG – Close to half of Winnipeggers just don’t care about the Winnipeg Jets, according to an Insightrix Research poll.
The poll of 600 Winnipeggers asked how they felt about the Jets. Respondents were given three choices for their response.
“I don’t care about it either way,” was the most frequently chosen answer, with 44 per cent of respondents indicating their apathy.
“The honeymoon period is over and they need to perform better,” was the response of 31 per cent of those polled.
“I’m still celebrating the fact that they are back!” was the choice of 25 per cent, or one-quarter, of respondents.

Winnipeggers with low incomes were the most likely not to care about the Jets, with 53 per cent of those who make less than $30,000 picking the “I don’t care” option. Those who make $120,000 or more were next on the apathy list, with 43 per cent picking “I don’t care.”
Middle-income earners were most enthusiastic about the Jets. Among those earning $60,000 to $90,000, the fewest – 36 per cent – said they don’t care, and more than one-third, or 37 per cent, were still celebrating the fact the Jets were back. Only 27 per cent said the honeymoon was over.
The wealthiest Winnipeggers were the most likely to demand better performance from the Jets, with 38 per cent of those who earn $120,000 or more saying the honeymoon is over.

The poll asked the opinions of 600 Winnipeggers in late January and early February.
