4 taken to hospital following serious car collisions in Saskatchewan

Regina Police are investigating three serious accidents along city roadways on Friday.

Just before 9:00am, a motorcyclist came to an abrupt stop behind traffic in the intersection of East Victoria Ave and the Ring Road.

The bike then fell to the ground, and skidded into the car in front of it.

The driver of the car wasn’t hurt, but the motorcycle driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Another bike accident happened just three hours later.

Just before 12:15pm, a car was pulling out of the Northgate Mall parking lot, and collided with an east-bound motorbike.

The driver of the car wasn’t injured, but emergency crews took the 45 year old driver of the motorcycle to hospital with minor injuries.

Later this afternoon, westbound traffic on the Ring Road was routed off at Ross Avenue after another accident.

Around 2:10pm, a truck was heading westbound when a car travelling at highway speed hit it from behind.

The occupants of the truck were not seriously injured, but the driver of the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Charges are pending on all three accidents following the outcome of police investigations.

Outside of Regina, a good Samaritan’s attempt to rescue a dog went horribly wrong.

On the turnoff into White City, a man was trying to grab the dog as it ran along the highway.

While in pursuit of the animal, the man was hit by a truck.

Emergency crews rushed the man to hospital, with serious injuries.

A police investigation is currently underway.
