Cocaine, marijuana seized in northern Saskatchewan drug bust

DILLON, Sask. – RCMP charged a woman with drug trafficking on a Saskatchewan reserve over the Easter long weekend.

On Saturday, a Mountie pulled over a woman driving a Chevrolet Cavalier on the Buffalo River Dene Nation.

A suspicious substance, believed to be cocaine, was located inside the car. Further investigation uncovered marijuana as well as evidence of drug trafficking.

The 24-year-old woman was taken into custody.

More evidence was found during a search of a home on the reserve.

Kaitlin Alexis Sylvestre, of the Buffalo River Dene Nation, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

She was scheduled to appear in provincial court on Monday.
