TORONTO – Toronto police say they are eager to view a new alleged video of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford smoking what appears to be crack-cocaine after a media outlet reported its existence Wednesday night.
“What I can tell you is that investigators have not seen the video. They would be interested in seeing the video,” said Toronto police spokesperson Meaghan Gray. “They would be interesting in seeing any new information with regards to this investigation.”
The Globe report said the new video, which two reporters viewed, was secretly filmed in Ford’s sister’s basement last Saturday morning and shows Ford smoking a substance described as crack-cocaine from a “long copper-coloured pipe.”

Court documents released this year show Ford and his friend Sandro Lisi were under a police investigation called Project Brazen 2.
Wiretaps connected with Project Traveller, an investigation into Toronto guns and gangs, uncovered allegations of Ford’s drug use and alleged attempts at extorting the mayor over a video believed to show him smoking crack.

The Toronto Star and Gawker first reported on the video on May 16, 2013.
The contents of those documents have not been proven in court.
Police also believe that a widely published photo showing Ford posing with three men – one shot dead shortly after the photo was taken and the other two accused gang members – was taken outside an alleged crack house.
