Authorities issued an Amber alert after the newborn was taken from a hospital in Trois-Rivieres Monday night.

Just before 10 p.m., police were searching for a woman dressed as a nurse, who allegedly took the one-day-old baby from St. Mary’s Hospital just before 7 p.m.

Described as five-foot-four and 130 pounds, the woman was seen driving off in a red Toyota Yaris hatchback with a “Baby on Board” decal on the rear window.
