REGINA – Friends, family, and investigators gathered for an annual barbecue Friday to commemorate one decade since Tamra Keepness went missing.
Roughly 100 people turned out for the event at Core Community Park, just a few blocks from the Ottawa Street home where the five-year-old disappeared back in July, 2004.
Corporal Tracey Dunnigan with the Regina Police Service was a part of the search efforts a decade ago.
“It’s not a celebration. It’s not a party. It’s hope that we’re going to bring her home and she’s not forgotten.”
The gathering has been held for nine years with police, family, friends, and even strangers turning out in support of the family.

Tamra’s father, Troy, told the media the show of support is overwhelming.
“I try to imagine how she would look now, by looking at her sister,” he said. “But I still picture her as a little girl.”
The hope is the barbecue will spark conversation and lead to a tip to help unravel the decade-old mystery.
Inspector Darcy Koch with the Regina Police Service said investigators are fully committed to the cold case file.
“We’re always looking for information, always following up on leads, so it is an active case,” he added.
Saturday will officially mark ten years since Tamra Keepness disappeared.
