SASKATOON – Police subdued an armed woman with a conducted energy weapon on Saturday night in Saskatoon.
Around 11 p.m., police were called to a report of domestic violence in the 1400-block of Cumberland Avenue.
Officers were informed prior to that, a woman was holding a knife to her own throat. It was also learned there were two children and two other adults were present at the scene.

While officers were dealing with the woman, a physical altercation ensued during which she was holding a scalpel-type weapon.
One officer used a conducted energy weapon (CEW) which allowed police to disarm and arrest her.
Police say other methods to disarm the woman were unsuccessful. The use of a CEW will be reviewed.
As a precaution, the woman was assessed in hospital.
No injuries were reported.
The woman has been charged with carrying a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
She is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
