RCMP investigate death of kayaker at Upper Kananaskis Lake

EDMONTON – RCMP are investigating after a kayaker died after being pulled to shore at Upper Kananaskis Lake Saturday.

RCMP were called to the lake shortly before 1 p.m.

Officers were told the 42-year-old appeared to be in distress while kayaking on the lake; he was unconscious when he was pulled to shore.

People in the area performed CRP on the man, and STARS Air Ambulance was called in to assist, but officers say the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is underway.

The man’s name has not been released.
