QUEBEC — A Canadian soldier facing a military tribunal for an alleged sexual assault has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Warrant officer Andre Gagnon entered the plea at the opening of a court martial that began today in Quebec City.

Gagnon faces one count of sexual assault and is charged under the National Defence Act.
The offence is alleged to have taken place in December 2011 at or near the Regiment de la Chaudiere armoury in Levis, Que.
The public hearing is taking place at the St-Malo Armoury.
