TORONTO – Sarah Thomson wants to build a “happy city” as mayor of Toronto.
One of her first priorities? Handing out free Viagra to low-income seniors.
“But it’s easy to see that increasing stress from gridlock combined with an aging demographic whose incomes are shrinking is causing huge frustration in many Toronto residents,” she said in a press release Tuesday. “Stress in seniors can cause erectile dysfunction, leading to more stress and creating very unhappy citizens.”

Thomson’s free Viagra was announced along with four other suggestions, she says, would make Toronto a happier place.
Those ideas include a car-free ride day that would close a route across Toronto to cars, so-called “play streets” in every community where people have priority over automobiles, martial arts training for police officers and free off-peak transit for seniors, students and people on ODSP and welfare.
