The Calgary Stampeders are now the top team in the Canadian Football League after Monday’s 28-13 win over the Edmonton Eskimos in the Labour Day Classic.
It was a clash of the two top teams in the west , with the ‘Battle of Alberta’ played at McMahon Stadium.

The Stamps’ impressive victory pushed them to an 8-1 record on the season, while their northern rival fell to 7-2.
Jon Cornish led the way with a two-yard touchdown run, and backup quarterback Drew Tate also scored on a one-yard plunge. Anthony Parker scored the other major for Calgary.
The Edmonton Eskimos will host the Stampeders next Saturday in the Provincial capital.
